Oddball UPS Tracking Issues
Published by Nick Ladd | Filed under Nikon D200
Apparently the Nikon D200 I ordered was delivered on September 5, 2006. This is quite a feat considering the fact that it was shipped on May 2, 2007. I called Cameta Camera about the discrepancy and they attributed it to UPS recycling their tracking numbers. According to them, it is a fairly common problem. UPS’s screwy software isn’t even giving me a estimated delivery date because the status is ‘delivered’. Here is the tracking info from the UPS website:
Ship Carrier: UPS
Status: Delivered
Shipment Date: April 30, 2007
Destination: SEATTLE, WA, US
Track your package
Date Time Location Event Details
May 4, 2007 02:22:00 PM HODGKINS IL US Departure Scan
May 4, 2007 07:04:00 AM HODGKINS IL US Arrival Scan
May 2, 2007 09:42:00 PM FARMINGDALE NY US Departure Scan
May 2, 2007 07:58:00 PM FARMINGDALE NY US Shipment picked up from seller’s facility
May 2, 2007 05:47:12 PM US Carrier notified to pick up package
September 5, 2006 02:10:00 PM SHERMAN OAKS CA US Delivered
You’d think a company that ships what must be millions of parcels a year would be able to fix a bug like this in their system…guess not.
