Who the hell am I, and why should you read my blog?

Well, the question was rhetorical, but I’ll answer it anyways. My passion is photography. No, I am not a professional photographer, but I am an enthusiast with a pretty good body of knowledge to work from and an open mind to learn new things. I come from a younger generation of photographers who’s first experience with serious photography came along with the advent of better and better digital cameras. Yes, I played with point and shoot film cameras when I was a kid (I even used to own a cheap film SLR), but my first real efforts at creating nice photographs came when I bought my first digital camera.

Not only am I passionate about taking photos, but I’m also eager to share what I learn with the rest of the world. That is the point of this blog. I myself am just taking the leap from a compact digital camera (Nikon Coolpix 4500) to my first digital SLR (Nikon D200). It should be an exciting ride and I intend on sharing most of it in this blog.
